Little trackers on the trails of Radom – summary of the educational project

Can history be a fascinating adventure? Second-grade students from Public Primary School No. 22 with Integration Divisions in Radom proved it can!

A unique educational project, “What’s Hiding in My City? – Little Hunters on Radom Trails (Zamłynie Estate),” prepared and conducted by our Library staff, has concluded. During the activities, children discovered local monuments, legends, and secrets related to the history of Zamłynie and the origins of Radom.

What happened during the project?

  • Literary inspiration: Students listened to excerpts from Marta Wiktoria Trojanowska’s book “Adventure with Radom. A Collection of Curiosities.” This book became the starting point for discovering the history of Zamłyń.
  • Discovering the roots of the settlement: Children learned about the history of the Zamłynie settlement and its key importance for the development of the entire town.
  • Lessons about the Old Garden: After reading excerpts from a book about the oldest park in Radom, there was a presentation and a talk about the rich flora and fauna of the Old Garden.
  • Museum Visit and Puzzles: Students took part in a trip to the Radom History Museum. There, they read a chapter on “Piotrówka” and solved themed puzzles.
  • Exciting field game: Second-graders tested their theoretical knowledge in practice during a dynamic game in the Zamłynie housing estate.
  • Meeting with the author: The culmination of the activities was a personal meeting with Marta Trojanowska, author of the book entitled “Adventure with Radom. A Collection of Curiosities.”

We would like to thank the students and teachers for their enormous commitment, passion for discovery and wonderful cooperation with our team!
