On Wednesday, November 4, 2026, a celebratory event was held to mark the 75th anniversary of the Pedagogical Library in Radom. The jubilee gathering—attended by numerous representatives from local government and educational authorities, as well as librarians and friends of the institution—took place in the conference hall of the Masovian Local Government Teacher Training Centre (MSCDN), Radom branch. The event served as an excellent opportunity to reflect on the institution’s rich history and its role in the educational and cultural development of the entire region.
The ceremony was opened by Tomasz Trela, Director of the Pedagogical Library in Radom, who expressed heartfelt thanks to generations of librarians who have helped shape the institution’s identity, as well as to the local government, educational, and regional authorities for their generous support of its mission. The highlight of the formal proceedings was the presentation of the “Pro Masovia” Commemorative Medal to the Pedagogical Library. This prestigious honor, awarded for outstanding contributions and overall service to the Masovian Voivodeship, was presented by Rafał Rajkowski, Deputy Marshal of the Masovian Voivodeship.
Invited guests also took the floor, including Wioletta Krzyżanowska (Masovian Superintendent of Schools) and Magdalena Nowacka (Chair of the Committee on Education, Science, and Higher Education of the Masovian Voivodeship Regional Assembly), who, in their speeches, highlighted the professionalism of the staff and the importance of the library as a modern support center for teachers and students.
Following the speeches and the presentation of tokens of appreciation, the guests embarked on a sentimental journey through the decades of the institution’s history. A nostalgic documentary film and a dedicated exhibition were presented, illustrating how, over the course of 75 years, the library has changed its locations, expanded its collection, and adapted to the digital challenges of the modern era.
The festive afternoon was rounded off with a musical performance by the group Piramidy. The musicians took the audience on a journey through some of the most popular songs from classic Polish cinema and television series.
The 75th-anniversary celebration demonstrated that the Pedagogical Library in Radom is not merely a repository for volumes, but, above all, a vibrant space for meetings, the exchange of ideas, and continuous educational development.
