Pursuant to art. 55 section 1 of the Act of 14 December 2016 – Education Law (consolidated text: Journal of Laws of 2019, item 1148, as amended), pedagogical supervision consists of:
- observing, analysing and evaluating the course of education and upbringing processes and the effects of teaching, educational and care activities as well as other statutory activities of schools and institutions;
- assessing the status and conditions of teaching, educational and care activities and other statutory activities of schools and institutions;
- providing assistance to schools and institutions, as well as teachers, in carrying out their teaching, educational and care tasks;
- inspiring teachers to improve existing or implement new solutions in the educational process, using innovative programmatic, organizational or methodological activities aimed at developing students’ competences.
Detailed principles of pedagogical supervision are specified in the Regulation of the Minister of National Education of 25 August 2015 on pedagogical supervision (Journal of Laws of 2017, item 1658).
